Vikings: War of Clans is a mobile strategy game where you are tasked in building a powerful army and conquering other players while managing your town and resources.
It has the usual bits you see in other mobile games of the same genre like long waiting times, completing quests, allying with other players, and of course being tempted with premium currency to speed things up.
If you are new to this game in or a veteran who is looking for a couple of pointers about the game then read on. Building resource-gathering structures in your town is one of the ways in amassing resources in Vikings: War of Clans.
There are 25 tiles reserved for these structures on the east side of your town. One good thing about this game is that you can easily construct and demolish these resource gatherers and the other buildings as well so your town can easily adapt to any economic situation.
Having a crisis on a certain resource like iron or stone? Why not dedicate all 22 tiles for mines or stone quarries?
The remaining 3 tiles are where the farm and the other gatherers will be placed. This will ensure a huge flow of a certain resource but at the cost of slowing down the income on the others.
This kind of setup also works when you are in a clan that practices the sharing of resources. Each of you clan members will dedicate your towns in producing a certain resource and split it with the others who gather the remaining resources.
Or if you want to be on the safe side you can just build an equal number of resource buildings. Doing this will land you with 6 of each building with one extra tile left which is best reserved for another farm.
Alternatively you can build more farms and leave the balanced numbers on the three remaining resources 10 farms, 5 lumber mills, stone quarries, and mines.
This setup will give you adequate food production without sacrificing the other resources, considering how important food becomes in the later stages of the game.
Keep in mind that you should plan first on what resource building to place in a tile. Demolishing and reconstructing takes time and costs you resources which could be wasted if you fail to do some careful planning.
On the left side of your town are the tiles for the buildings that deal with military aspects. The only ones that you can build multiple times are the barracks, manor, and infirmary.
Building many barracks does not really provide any useful benefit. It only increases the maximum amount of troops you can train per batch.
You are better off with only two or three barracks that are fully upgraded. There is no reason to not build many manors as the benefits it grants is undoubtedly useful in all parts of the game.
You don't really need to know anything specific about the bosses at the end of each raid, except for two. The Bishop of the Sky you run from.
You can't hurt him. Run to the end of the raid. And Grimnir's second form becomes vulnerable when he falls down in front of you once every 60 seconds or so.
The rest of the time he is invulnerable. Hope that helps. Showing 1 - 7 of 7 comments. I did like it. I did not encounter any bugs that some people talk about on the forums.
The whole game functioned just fine all the way through. I liked it that I didn't have to repair armor, I could go back and repeat a raid for resources and blood points, i could run around whenever i wanted to look for hidden resources, i could purchase pretty much what i needed with the merchant in the village, i could decide which runes i wanted to use, i could easily compare a loot drop with what i had equipped, and i did not have to look on the web to figure something out every 5 or 10 minutes like some RPGs and ARPGs i looked some, but not very often.
Overall, an enjoyable game. Unerde View Profile View Posts. Hi everybody. Thank you bufossil for your awesome work and contribution to this game and community Please keep it up!

As I am nearing my 1st play through, I have this observation, at the beginning the game seems pretty hard at times jarl difficulty , it took me over a dozen tries for the 1st Jokul, but mid way through if you do some hunts it becomes almost too easy, right now I am breezing past all the frost and fire giants with Mjolnir in hand :D.

Don't rush, explore all nooks and cranies some secrets are hidden behind destructable objects and don't leave blood lying behind it's XP lost. Last edited by RageOfPerun ; 10 May, am.
Sorry this is a bit of a necropost. Utgard is a pain, and there's almost always one thing I can't find on every run through it, whether a skull or a troll totem.
But what really ticks me off is the forced bad choice at the end. According to the seeress, it is a bad idea to take Draupnir. You cannot complete the raid without taking Draupnir, and then the seeress immediately calls you a greedy idiot for doing so.
And if you can't complete the raid without taking Draupnir, then why is it a freaking achievement? The achievement should be finding a way to NOT take Draupnir.

Attack them frequently as they are excellent sources of food, wood, stone, iron ore and silver. You have a ton of quests to complete in this game, and they are great sources of resources, gold and experience.
Save the resource-reward quests. Be sure to go especially heavy on the amount of farms that you build as well as the amount of upgrades that you do to the farms.

Most Read. Jul 30, Stuff like the charge canceling is really really good to know. Do you know if the longboat is as powerfull with 1 Viking as it is with 3?
How does that work? Can you longboat on 1 Viking and continue playing with the other 2 in the same fight or will they automatically jump on when the boat is near?
What I've found, is that if you want consistent vikings play, play them in one lane, but use two of them to capture your nearby objectives.
For instance: Erik should constantly be soaking lane. Whether you get the "turn Erik into a ward" skill or you just hide him in a bush, he should stay in lane.
Send Olaf and Baelog to grab the nearby jungle camps Splitting them up is ok if you're the master of micro, but most of us are not.
You'll get much more consistent play by just pressing their advantage where needed, and keeping them in a group for the most part.
Do this throughout the game, when longboat raid is on cooldown. Extra globes are nice, but you won't be effective and will lose vikings.
If you pop it at the back of your teamfight, the other team will run, but pop it after the melee has started, just behind your tank, and you're golden.
Mostly agree, except on your first point. Splitting up the vikings is really important if you take the Viking Hoard talent.
Each regen globe you get 1 per lane, per wave adds up to every viking's regen. The difference is barely noticeable, you can't help push the lanes, and if you start losing vikings early, you'll just demoralize your team.
Time to train your micromanagement, then. I can soak 2 lanes of exp and orbs without losing any vikings. Keep Erik hidden in bushes close to the middle of the lane until everyone else leaves the lane to pursue objective.
Pull Vikings back when enemy returns. However, they are squishy enough that they cannot take on more than one opponent except in a teamfight.
The benefits of splitting depend on how long the other players intend to stay in lane and how quickly they can rotate between lanes and objectives.
If the other players stay in the lanes with you then splitting becomes redundant in terms of soaking XP; it might even be a liability since the Vikings' DPS is also split across the lanes, as opposed to all Vikings in one lane.
With that in mind, this is how I would recommend splitting for each of the maps:. Both maps are two of the largest maps in game; the objectives are far from the lanes and obtaining the objectives requires spending a good amount of time outside the lane.
On Haunted Mines, there are only two lanes anyway, and getting skulls generally trumps Mines anyway. Recommended: Group up at bottom lane.
The top two lanes are pretty close together; also, the middle lane lacks a suitable hiding place for Erik if the other team is around.
Good stuff : what do you think of talent picks depending perhaps on team comp or map? So far most go with the active talents and I like those as well, but it seems others should have their place as well.
Sorry for not getting back to you, I just saw this reply. I haven't quite figured out all the talents but I'll give my thoughts:.
They are indeed the default choice in most scenarios, especially vs. However, if you're not facing either of those heroes, I'd be more comfortable experimenting.
I remember using this with hilarious effect to push away the enemy Dragon Knight; however, keep in mind you will be sacrificing damage and survivability by taking this talent.
You probably want to take Erik the Swift with this to help Erik survive better. If the enemy comp is more focused on melee or tanky characters, I'd go for it.
It also works well with Impatience is a Virtue, allowing you to burn the cooldown for your ultimate especially quickly.
Moar Longboats plz. Don't use this to take Mercs though, use this to push with the Mercs. It not only resurrects any dead Vikings but also teleports any live Vikings to the target Viking.
